Science fiction has always had a separate fan base, especially when they involve space and its adventures. The Stargate Universe is one such Canadian-American military science fiction television series that encompasses the experiences of an exploration team that gets going in a spaceship all across the universe. They travel billions of light-years away from the Milky Way galaxy and struggle to get back to earth.

 Surviving, while figuring out a way to get back to earth, turns out to be a big challenge for them. The cinematography of the show added to its visual experience and it received critical acclaim from across the globe. We’ll, the SciFi couldn’t cope up with the popularity of other Science Fiction like Avengers, etc, but has successfully created a fan base of its own.

Stargate Universe is a Canadian-American military science fiction television series that has been created by Brad Wright and Robert C. Cooper. The show is based on a novel named Stargate, written by Roland Emmerich and Dean Devlin. It stars Robert Carlyle, Louis Ferreira, Brian J. Smith, Elyse Levesque, David Blue, Alaina Huffman, Jamil Walker Smith, and Ming-Na Wen in important roles. The background score for the series has been given by Joel Goldsmith and was originally made in Canada, United States.

The MGM Television company is involved in the production of the show and its executive producers are Brad Wright, Robert C. Cooper, and Carl Binder. Stargate Universe was officially distributed by MGM Worldwide Television Distribution and the show premiered on October 2, 2009. Its last episode aired on May 9, 2011. 

The series was edited by Mike Banas and each of its episodes was approximately 43 minutes long. It has two seasons released till now and it has had a total of 74 episodes (40 Episodes and 34 Webisodes). The Stargate franchise has had several other shows and movies like Stargate Atlantis, Stargate Origins, Stargate (film), and Stargate SG-1. The show originally aired on the Syfy network.

Plot:

The story revolves around a military team who leaves for space in their ancient spaceship named “Destiny”. They travel billions of light-years away from the Milky Way galaxy to explore the Universe. They find themselves lost in the universe and travel through wormholes, to come back to the earth. The story is about their struggle to survive while they figure out a way to get back to the earth.

Starcast:

Robert Carlyle essayed the role of  Nicholas Rush who is the ship’s brilliant Machiavellian scientist. Nicholas Rush is a reasonable man who does everything for a reason, or let’s put it this way, “he has a good reason for everything he does”. However, people on the ship believe that Rush has lost his mind and is doing unreasonable things. 

Louis Ferreira essayed the role of Everett Young who is a handsome, capable, former SG team leader. He is a 40-year-old man, holding the post of a Colonel. His character is edgy and has been shown married for almost five years yet successfully maintaining the secret of the off-world base. 

Brian J. Smith essayed the role of Matthew Scott who is a 26-year-old skilled and well-trained Airman and is a junior SGC member who holds the rank of First Lieutenant. His character is impulsive and is often mentally unprepared to face unexpected situations.

Elyse Levesque essayed the role of Chloe Armstrong who is a 23-year-old woman and the daughter of a US Senator. David Blue played the role of Eli Wallace and Alaina Huffman essayed the role of Tamara Johansen. Jamil Walker Smith essayed the role of Ronald Greer and Ming-Na Wen essayed the role of Camile Wray.

When Will Stargate Universe Season 3 Be Released?

The last episode of the second season ended on a cliffhanger. Fans of the show have been desperately waiting for the release of Stargate Universe’s third season. A long time has passed post the release of the last episode of the show and there hasn’t been any official statement made by the makers of the show, regarding the third season. The Corona Pandemic is believed to be one reason behind its delay. Some also believe that makers of the show might start working on its Third season, towards the end of 2021, and we might have our third season released by 2022.
