Carnival Row Season 2: Plot
Carnival Row is a fantastic portrayal of the refugee crisis faced all over the world. Xenophobia is also a significant theme that forms the core of Carnival Row in association with the refugee crisis. Orlando Bloom’s character Rycroft Philosrate is a police inspector for the Burgue. Faeries are being displaced all around him, and on some level, he is sympathetic towards them.
Soon murders start happening; someone is hunting faeries, and Rycroft needs to find out who! The murders occur in a place called Carnival Row, a part of Burgue, which is where the name of the show comes from.
He is one of the few people who are genuinely interested in helping the faeries. The rest of his team shows a somewhat negative reaction to the situation. This forces Philo to take matters into his own hands.
Delevingne’s character Vignette Stonemoss is a winged faerie who made her way out of her country after facing many difficulties. She works as a handmaid for a wealthy Spurnrose family. Philo and Stonemoss make a great team. They need to find out who the killer is, but the path is not easy.
Philo and Stonemoss are separated because of the horrific war. So it is likely that they would see each other after experiencing great hardships and rekindle their love. It would be a great relief to Stonemoss when she sees that Philo has not perished in the warlike she was afraid would have happened.
