She was the middle child in a family. After her 18th birthday, she went to Colorado to begin her career as a singer. Many people appreciated her voice, which opened many doors for her. Marcella used to have standing gigs in Colorado Springs, where she was awarded for the role ‘Miss Pikes’ in 1947.
She then moved to California, where she worked at the Owsley Music Store. She sang at the Ambassador hotel’s room, The Zebra Room. Not only this, upon the invitation of Bob Hope, she traveled to Korea to perform for U.S troops, which also included Debbie Reynolds, a singer and actress.
In California, Marcella met her love of life. She met her husband, Fess Parker, at a swimming pool complex. Fess and Marcella got married in January 1960 at El Montecito Presbyterian Church. They both were married for 50 years and had two children.
Marcella was a talented interior designer. She practiced her skills in homes in Hope Ranch and Los Angeles. Later on, she helped a family launch their winery in Los Olivos. She was well-known for exemplary hostesses and fabulous parties. She had a love for music, and in 2000, she recorded songs with her friend and accompanied Bill Powell.
