A brief look at Dubai Hills

The golf course layout

The golf course is perfectly maintained and offers fun challenges to the players due to the strategically situated bunkers and lakes. It is promised that by playing once on this golf course, you will return back again and again.
There are lots of strong holes and goes a little lower than the residential property which is around the course because excess material was taken out from the already present land in order to shape the holes. A million cubic metres of earth was moved in total. Resultantly, there is little movement in the fairways and a significant amphitheater feel in the holes. It’s not been many years since the golf course has been revealed.
However, it’s lush greenery and attractive fairways are very pleasing to hit iron shots from and strike putts on. It is visibly low scale but impressively dense. The agronomy expert Sean Kinsley works on the site and is happy with the conditioning, even if he wants more refining in the color – a shortage of which is a general characteristic in young paspalum.
A decent par-3 and a soft opener start things before a par-4 of 320 yards at the 3rd. It is a great hole having a lot of momentum in the greenery, which is common on the surface there. There is ample space in the left but an angled bunker cuts the greenery from the fairway. There is a strong ridge on one of the city’s biggest greenery. This means that if you come on the wrong level, you will most probably enter the 3-putt territory.
The dogleg 4 demands an average to short iron method from another spacious fairway. Afterwards, the strongest stretch arrives both strategically and visually. The 5th is a straight par-5 and is actually the signature hole, having the Burj Khalifa as it’s background. The views here are stunning especially if you play at the sunrise or sunset with the background of the iconic skyscraper.
The 6th hole is another short par-4. It is 310 yards away from the back tee. The technique of approaching this hole relies on the wind. You can view another strong ridge on the green. You will realize that the first pin position can be the most difficult at this golf course. This is because if the player gets above the hole with the technique, it becomes slippery from there.
The 7th hole views a long bunker going up the right side. Gary Johnston thought about turning this hole into a lake after he saw water standing in it when Dubai witnessed a special overnight rain. The 8th hole requests you to search for a tighter fairway having water alongside the right direction all the way to the greenery.
This is an outstanding driving hole in all aspects because professional players can cut off as many holes as possible while the handicappers can perfectly strike away from the water at the far-off left bunkers.
Water engages significantly with the last 2 holes at both nines, with the 17th and 9th long par-3s across water. The former, especially, is an attractive short hole. To finish there is a strong par-4 surrounding drive bunkers.
