This is an American fantasy television series. It was amazingly produced by the ABC network. Do you remember the famous series “Lost”? That was created by Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz too!
It is a series of stories with a unique take of the fairy tales that have been happening in our society for an indefinite period of time. The characters and elements are based on famous folklores.
Disney is a good source of events, characters, and stories. The series talked about the fictional town of Storybrooke, Maine, where everything happens. In the seventh season, the setting took place in another fictional city in Seattle.
‘Once Upon a Time’ presents two worlds intertwined – the present world and the world of fairy tales. What is the destiny of two different worlds interlinked? This is how interesting, at the same time, challenging the plots have been.
There have been many characters shown off such as Snow White and the Prince Charming of the famous fictional story from Disney, Snow White.
Once Upon A Time In Wonderland was a spin-off of the show, where the titular character Alice is still present. It was also premiered on the same network.

Cast
There are many headliners on this show. Due to the increasing number of subplots and mini-dramas, the demand for characters has increased. The main story revolves around the main character, Snow White, played by Ginnifer Goodwin.
Ginnifer Goodwin has been a brilliant star. She is well-known in Hollywood who also was one of Disney’s favorites. The actress played different roles. She dubbed Disney Zootopia’s Lt. Judy Hopps and Tinker Bell’s Fawn.
She is also famous for playing the role of Margene Heffman in the drama series ‘Big Love’ and Rachel in the movie ‘Something Borrowed’.
Another star, Jennifer Morrison, portrays the role of Emma Swan (daughter of Snow White). Jennifer is known to have played the role of Dr. Allison Cameron in the Medical Drama House.
While the previous stars are the protagonists, Lana Parrilla played the antagonist in the character of the Evil Queen. This American actress is famous for Spin City and Boomtown.
Josh Dallas played as the Prince Charming. Jared S. Gilmore and Raphael Sbarge and other characters played central roles in this series.
Plot
Past
Almost everyone knows about the stories of Snow White, Red Riding Hood, Baelfire, Prince Charming, and Evil Princess. Their stories end happily as all other fairy tales do.
The difference with Once Upon a Time is it’s a combination of two worlds – fairy tale and the real world. It has a plot that doesn’t end with a happy note.
It was a very happy beginning. The story begins with Snow White and Prince Charming’s wedding day. But, the Evil Queen arrives and interrupts the ceremony, declaring to put a curse on everyone present.
She doesn’t want a happy ending for everyone that serves a happy ending for her. The Evil Queen placed a curse on everyone and they lost their memories. Everyone has cast a spell. Then, they were transported to a town called Storybrooke in Maine.
Present
The present world story started with Emma Swan’s 28th birthday. Emma meets her son Henry who was given up for adoption 10 years ago.
Emma’s life changes upon meeting Henry. This young man continues to live by and believes that there are still fairy tales in the town of Storybrooke. He believes that his mother was the daughter of Snow White and Prince Charming.
He thought that his mother was sent away from the enchanted forest to be saved from the curse of the Evil Queen. But, Emma does not believe in all of these. He insists and leaves for the town of Storybrooke.
Emma realizes that Storybrooke has many secrets within it as she becomes a Sheriff in the town. Everyone stops aging as they reach 28 years old. And, everyone is unaware of it.
No one remembers what happened except for the Evil Queen. She hides under the name of Regina Mills. Regina adopts Henry. Very interesting!
Emma Swan is the only person to break everybody’s spell. She is the only one who can bring back people’s memories. Because of that, Emma has to accept her destiny after being saved by her real parents, away from the Evil Queen’s spell.
She has to fight against the evil queen. And, her son is with her in this battle. Henry supports Emma in her battle for survival and helps save the world.
Premiere Date
Once Upon A Time – Season 7 was released on October 6, 2017. The show premiered on ABC network and got an excellent rating in its first season. When it became a hit, the show found a strong fanbase amongst the audience.
Most critics gave the show positive feedback. The reviews were generally in favor of the show. The audience loved the series and ratings never went below 3.2 until the fourth season.
During season 5, the show slowly falls because of extra subplots. Its ratings have a dramatic fall and they could never recover.
It hit the bottom rating of 1.5. It was a drastic fall that the network closed curtains for the show. The 7th season ended with the worst rating of 0.9. It was aired on May 18, 2018.
Once Upon A Time – Season 8 stands canceled. The show is officially not making a comeback on ABC in the near future.
