Early Life
Torrence Hatch Jr. or more known as Lil Boosie was born in Southside Baton Rouge, Louisiana on the 14th day of November 1982. He is the son of Torrence Hatch Sr. and Connie Hatch. He was raised in a low-income type housing together with his seven siblings.
His childhood days were unlike any others for he experienced quite a tough one. His father was strongly dependent on illegal drugs which eventually led to his death in 1997. On the other hand, his mother is a retired school teacher. At a very young age, Lil Boosie was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes.
He got his nickname from his parents who called him Boosie then, later on, became Lil Boosie. He was athletic and is very good at basketball. His mother hoped that his skills and great sportsmanship in the field will eventually lead him to land a good college. Unfortunately, due to his involvement in drugs, he was kicked out of his school.

In the late 1990s, his cousin Young Bleed Boosie introduced him to Baton Rouge-based rapper C-Loc. This eventually kick-started his career.
