Sequels followed with more improvements in its gameplay and controls. Years later, Fight Night Series made it to its 2011 release, the Fight Night Champion which followed a unique and outstanding Champion mode that features an interesting and engaging story of a talented professional boxer named Andre Bishop.
Andre Bishop is the protagonist of the story who served time in jail after a famous boxer promoter named DL McQueen framed him for police assault. He spent his time in prison honing his skills and when he got out of prison, he started working for his brother Raymond Bishop.
However, Megan McQueen offered to be his manager which he gladly accepted given that Gus will still be his trainer. He won several heavyweight bouts which earned him the chance to fight against the unrivaled world heavyweight champion Isaac Frost. With this, he made a successful comeback by winning the world heavyweight championship.
The first release of Fight Night Champion received tremendous overall positive feedback from critics for its storyline, graphics, and realistic likeness of professional boxing round and has been on top of the boards among video game fans worldwide.
Fans from around the world are greatly expecting for Fight Night Champion to come back with a sequel. Since Electronic Arts already presented bits of Bishop’s narratives on the side, fans are to expect online multiplayer functionality. Some boxing superstars like Anthony Joshua, David Haye, Wladimir Klitschko, Andy Ruiz Jr, Manny Pacquiao, Claressa Shields, and more are expected to appear in the next release.
Fight Night Champion features the largest listing in the series consisting of over 50 boxers through eight weight divisions. Electronic Arts was granted to recreate fights such as Manny Pacquiao vs. Timothy Bradley and Wladimir Klitschko vs. David Haye. There are also other fighters available but it is not free to use unless authorized.
Following the flow of the game, it has André Bishop, voiced by and modeled after LaMonica Garrett, as the protagonist who is a talented professional boxer that was framed by D.L. McQueen, voiced by Walter Addison, a famous fight promoter and was sent to jail. However, he made a comeback and won the heavyweight belt.
Behind a best boxer is a trusted trainer, Gus Carisi voiced by Ralph P. Martin, previously trained André’s father, and has also become his trainer/manager. D.L. McQueen’s daughter, Megan McQueen, inspired by actress Pauline Egan and voiced by Eliza Dushku, chose to leave her father due to philosophical differences and later became André’s financer and manager. André won against a heavyweight fighter, Isaac Frost which shared the likeness of Ivan Drago and voiced by Travis Willingham.
