Bokar was born in 1981. The exact date of his birth isn’t known. According to his father, Bokar was named after a ruler who fought against French colonial rule in Guinea, Bokar Biro Barry.

Bokar Carmichael’s father is Stokely Standiford Churchill Carmichael, commonly known as Kwame Ture. He was born to Adolphus and Mabel Carmichael.
Stokely is a well-known organizer in the global pan-African movement and civil rights movement in the US.
Stokely was born on June 29, 1941, in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. He went to Tranquility School. However, at the age of 11, his family moved to Harlem, New York City.
While attending the Bronx High School of Science, Stokely became an activist. He was the leader of the A-APRP (All-African People’s Revolutionary Party), the Honorary Prime Minister of BPP (Black Panther Party), the leader of the SNCC (Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee), and the leader of the Black Power Movement.
In 1968, Stokely married the well-known singer from South Africa, Miriam Makeba. They got married in the United States. However, they divorced in Guinea in 1973.
After that, Stokely married a Guinean doctor named Marlyatou Barry. They had a son named Bokar. However, they divorced in 1981.
In 1996, Stokely was diagnosed with prostate cancer. For a period, he was treated in Cuba. However, he died of prostate cancer in 1998. He was 57 at the time of his death.

Bokar Personal Life
After living with his mother, Bokar decided to go and live with his father for a couple of years. Stokely taught Bokar and his friends history, politics, and math.
According to an Interview with Bokar, Stokely’s home was like a community center. It was a tough environment. However, Stokely’s house was open to everybody.
Bokar did a degree in African Studies as well as economics at the University of Virginia. Then, Bokar went to the London School of Economics.
Bokar also said that his father had a deep impact on him. Bokar spent a lot of years with his father. He saw that his dad dedicated his life to serving others.
Because of this, Bokar returned to Guinea in 2007. His goal was to help develop the African continent. Bokar said that he always felt better living in his motherland.
