Today, I will share with you 6 tips that will help you catch more fish. These tips are from years of my personal experience and from my avid angler friends at Neptonics.com ,will help you understand a little bit more about how to fish properly so that you can enjoy the sport for years to come.

Tip #1: Chart Your Location

Charting your location lets you know what’s in the area and where you want to venture out. Knowing where they are going, they’re more likely to be in that area.

Charting also lets you know where the fish will be when a front passes through or if there is a heavy run of baitfish in an area.y simply knowing where you should be at a given time, you could increase your chances of catching your fill of local fish

  • How does charting work?

Most fish finder units today will have a GPS feature. This allows them to monitor the boat movements. This data is then outputted to a chart plotter that displays how the boat moves along with weather patterns and sonar data.

Tip #2: Fresh Bait:

You may ask, “what is fresh bait?” Well, it can be a number of things. When it comes to fish and fishing, they’re quite finicky, so you might have to adjust your bait as necessary to match the changing circumstances.

Fresh bait, specifically bloodworms, will attract fish in shallow water. They’re not just a human favourite, but a fish favourite as well! A must-have for the beginner; the bloodworms will ensure you catch more fish.

Tip #3:Rigging Up:

Rig up your line with a hook, worm and sinker. When preparing your line, make sure to keep the line tight and not tangled.

Tip #4:Knots:

Make sure to practice the correct knots that include the Palomar Knot and the Perfection Loop knot. After practising with the knots and getting them down, hook it all together with a Palomar Knot.

Tip #5:Floats:

Attaching a float will allow you to see above the water; when your hook is submerged, you’ll know for sure whether or not you have something on the hook.

Super tip: In deeper waters, try placing your hook further away from the float so that you will have time to respond accordingly in case of a snag.

Tip #6:Don’t forget the tackle box!

The tackle box is what will hold all of your fishing equipment while you are out on the water fishing. The type of tackle box you choose will depend on your needs, but it should be sturdy enough to hold many things and be easy to carry around when you are out on the water fishing.
